Homemade Dishwasher Tablets

Homemade Dishwasher Tablets

Making your own Homemade Dishwasher Tablets, is easy and cheap. Not only do they leave your dishes super clean, but they leave your dishwasher sparkling too!

Yields 14-15 Tables

Homemade Dishwasher Tablets
  • ½ Cup of Borax
  • ½ Cup of Washing Soda
  • ½ Cup Epsom Salt
  • 1 Tbsp Citric Acid
  • 1 Tbsp Baking Soda
  • 2 Tbsp Vinegar
  • 2 tsp Citrus Essential Oil
  1. Mix all of your dry ingredients together in a large bowl, and removes all lumps. (If your nails are painted, you may want to use gloves for this).
  2. Add in your Essential Oil. Mix until color is even throughout.
  3. Slowly add in your vinegar, a little add a time. You want just enough that when you squeeze the mixture together, it keeps it shape.
  4. Place in a silicon mold or ice cube trays.
  5. Pack the mixture in firmly.
  6. Allow to set for 12-24 hours to harden before removing from the mold.

One Tablet is enough to a full load in the dishwasher! See? Told ya it was easy!

  4. I have made this recipe several time now and it’s much better than commercial detergents/tablets – my whole family loves them and appreciates the fact that our dishes do not taste like the other commercially-scented products. Thanks for sharing this!
